3rd Grade | Self-Portraits with Paper

Motivating question: How would you like to show yourself using paper?  [Students spent many weeks exploring how to manipulate paper to create hair and other facial features.  Thus, they were encouraged, but of course not required, to zoom in on themselves and make their face/head/hair a prominent part of their work]

My hair is so wet.  I just came out of the pool.

I am wearing a hoodie.  I'm looking sideways and hiding from my math.

It was a surprise party.  There was a lot of confetti.

I love to eat french fries.

I am a unicorn with wings!

I am a gamer girl.

My hair is super curly and I am happy about it.

I'm wearing a crown.  Crowns are gold.

I just like to be surrounded by pretty things.

I have big eyes.  I also like crowns.

I'm laying on my back in the pool, that's why my hair is flowing everywhere.

I am wearing sunglasses and surrounded by pool floaties.

I wish I had gold hair.

I am laying in a field of flowers.
